DOCTRINE

Prominent Practical Commitment Of The Saints

Believers have liberty in Christ, Gal 5:1. This is limited by biblical teachings and principles set forth by the word of God. Each believer should be fully persuaded in his heart about the doctrines of the Bible.

Roman 14:5. The scripture is clear on its principles that should govern the believer's daily conduct. This liberty is limited by warning against self-indulgence; Gal 5:13 ; by enslaving habits; 1Cor 6: 12 and by anything that does not edify; 1 Cor 8:23 ; and which is hypocritical; 1Peter 2:16 or which tends to harm the weak, 1Cor 8:9.

Conduct must be pure rather than lustful; 1Tim 5:22 , 1Peter 1:11 . It must not defile 1Cor 3:17 , Titus 1:7 or result in self-condemnation, Rom 14: 22 . It is always to be category of good works, Titus 3:8, rather than in a category of sin, Roman 14:7. It is to be a good example,

1Tim 4:I, honest 2Cor 8:21 , free from the appearance of evil, 1Thess 5:22 , helpful rather than offensive to a neighbor, Rom 15:2, 1Cor 10:32 , not a cause of stumbling , Rom 14; 13. It

must honor parents, Col 3: 20 and government, Titus 3:1, while it may not be unequally yoked 2Cor 6:14

This practical conduct has relationship to God. Everything is to be done in the name of the Lord, 1Tim 6:1 as unto the Lord, Col 3:23 , and for His glory, 1 Cor 10:13 . It is to be worthy of God and His kingdom, 1Thess 1:12 , 2Thess1

The following principles are guidelines adopted and set forth for a practical walk:

  1. Warning against the use of  strong drinks.
  2. Warning against participating in activities in which strong drinks are principal features, Prov 20: 1, 23, 29-32, 1Cor 5:11, 1Cor 6:10, Gal 5:21.
  3. All believers should strive to attend worship as the saint's congregation together. Romans 13:1-3, 14:5, 6, Col 2:16-17, Matt 28:1, Act 20:7, Cor 1
  4. Warning against the use of strong drugs , tobacco of any form , Eph 5: 3-8, James 1;21, 1Cor 1:31 -32.
  5. The New Testament's interpretation of meat and drinks in accordance with the following scriptures, Rom 14: 2, 1Tim 4;1, 1Cor 8: 8.
  6. Conformity to scriptural admonition on the use of strong cosmetics and other things that create unnatural appearance. Believers are to be always conscious that they are Christ's disciples and should reflect His character, 1Peter 3:2-5, 1 Tim 2:1-4, Rom 13:14.
  7. Warning against members attending ungodly places of amusement such as; demonic and violent movies, dances, clubs, etc.
  8. Warning against members viewing certain videos, reading certain books and becoming involved in gang and cults; 1John 2:15 -16, Rom 13: 14 , 1Thess 5:22 , Phil 4:8; 2Cor 6:14 -17.
  9. Members should be sure that they reflect the standard of Holiness in their total wal
  10. 1John 2: 15 -16, 1Tim 2: 9, 1cor 6: 19 -20, Rom 6; 13 2Peter 1:4, Gal 5:19 .
  11. Warning against members belonging to lodges , secret orders, cults, and any other kind of subversive or antichrist movements ; John 18:20, 2Cor 6:14-17, 1 Tim 4:1, James 2:19.
